THE TELEPHONE RELATIONSHIP

Wow I cannot believe I actually dated someone on the telephone. Ok this is the story I don’t know or I can’t remember how he got my number.

One day I got a call from this wonderful voice at first I was hostile but when he started telling about my family members I relaxed. He knew most of my family members and some of my friends. He said he had seen me several times (you know Benin is a small town lol). At that time he was in London doing his masters so we got talking he sent me his pictures but I still didn’t know him we kept talking on phone then we went on to Skype and Facebook lol somewhere along the line he asked me out and we started dating. (To think that I used to laugh at our housemistress back then in secondary school that she had Internet marriage cos her husband was abroad). He called me morning afternoon evening. He was a very good Christian we used to pray together he was someone I could tell anything (funny I still tell him anything)

When things were very rough in university he was there to calm me and remind me that God was in charge. He sent me things including money when I needed it. The only thing was we never saw face to face. So along the line I needed to know what the future held for us so I asked him that stupid question. “So what next after masters” hmm the answer got me furious he said he planed to go for his PHD then work awhile in London before he comes back to Nigeria and try to settle into the system then go into politics before he could think of marriage. Hmm I was now like so when do you plan to get married. And he said five to six years ah God forbid bad thing!! I just started acting up oh and that was how we drifted apart. Now I’m wondering was it a wise decision? You would not believe we have not seen face to face till today. He is back to Nigeria and he is trying to come back but I like him as a close friend and not a prospective husband  (lol) #FRIENDZONE
